Nice game, but has one thing that is very frusterating. When the toxins all pile up and u hit the pile and every single one gets you or you keep bouncing into them getting multiple toxins at the same time, maybe make it like how in video games when you get hit your invincible for a few seconds.
What a flamin' idea.
This game is great and interesting, however there are some minor gripes I have. The game played well and the opening scene, was short, but great animation. The idea was great but could be expanded on. Now here are some things you could improve on:
~The music, the first levels music was kind of annoying.
~The sprite for fireman does not go with the sprites of the level and enemies. If you cant find one that matches, make one or possibly, I could make one.
~Firemans blast is a little big, maybe that could be a power blast or something.
Custom sprites would take a lot to make. Programming is enough trouble. I could not wait. In this project I was in a hurry to learn Action Script, so I just took sprites and music from old games. Thanks :)
After reading many reviews, I know what you are looking for in a review, and so I will give you a reason. This is the only game I have seen made by a fan that is just like megaman. It looks great. The graphics are cool and the bosses are creative. Its problem comes in the gameplay. It has one obvious one, but thats not the major problem. The difficulty is fine, slightly harder then what im used to but its alright. I do suggest putting an easy mode. It has a problem with coming back into the game. Such as when fighting a boss, after you lose, you will come back right away without a sign saying start or something. This may be hard to do, but it is something I didnt like. When I jumped, I jumped the same distance, no matter how hard I pushed the button. With this jumping pattern, I get stuck. Jumping small is sometimes needed to avoid enemies and stuff. The game was too crowded and moved very fast with a lot of uneven ground and drops. It got hard to find a place to shoot at them all. If the screen was bigger, it would be much better, or make everything smaller. Here are some small things that you could maybe improve.
- In artilary mans level, the things that connect the trains look like you can jump on them, but you cant. I suggest making them lighter to blend into the backround better.
- While I was fighting the introduction man, he stopped moving and I got a ton of hits on him. I dont know if it was something with the browser or not.
-More even ground. Its hard to fight a ton of guys when they follow you in a ditch. Also, there are too many drops, even ground is good, but not too much.
This is my review, I hope it tells you what I think about the game. Good job though, making a megaman game isnt easy. The next one should be good, as you have had some more experience, thanks for the game.
Thanks for being thorough and not going down the road of stupidity like some of the other reviewers. Sorry bout the chains in Arsenalman's level. Dramatic Introman isn't supposed to move, he's just comic relief. You can cancel your jump by pressing 'down' while airborne and becomes crucial to getting far and living (I can't remember if I noted in the game, and my site's server is being moved so the strategy guide is down). The fast-no-break gameplay and being swarmed by baddies is done on purpose, I didn't want to give any breather's to the player and wanted lots of combat.
